  1. A kangaroo is a MARSUPIAL found in Australia,
  2. Tazmania and New Guinea.
  3. There are over 30 types of kangaroo all have
  4. powerful hind legs which are used for 
  5. hopping, long feet, short forelimbs
  6. and a long muscular tail for maintaining
  7. balance. The femal has a pouch in which she
  8. suckles the newborn kangaroo also known as
  9. the joey. The cheif grazers of the Australian
  10. planes, kangaroos are diurnal and live in
  11. herds. Great red kangaroo males may attain a
  12. height of 7ft (210cm) and weigh over 200lb
  13. (90kg). Small members of the kangaroo family
  14. include the rabbit sized WALLABY and
  15. pademelons. Kangaroos have been extensively
  16. hunted for their valuble hides.
